well, one is trying to fledge at the moment - but his father is working in NYC and he (The Teen) can't be bothered to live in X's empty house and do his own cooking and laundry, so he's still with me for the duration
still not talking to me, treats the place like a hotel - but I still care about him so much. .
how does that work? sometimes I think it's like I'm a sucker for punishment, other times I just hope he's going to be ok i hte long run and would rather he took it out on me in the short term than himself (like he did last year)
I'd lay down some rules, if I could work out what they were
in the meantime I'm just being dignified and polite and maintaining my own standards, despite him
and the other two?!?!?! probably just normal teens. . . but, sheesh!!!!
Christopher thank you. . . (I knew it was the French courage not the English courage!)
Mel it's weird, cos I didn't do the whole teenage thang. . . and I don't think my brothers did either. . . I can remember X telling me tales of his sisters and I used to gasp so!!! oh well, it'll be over one day
(won't it? I daren't think what would happen if he never spoke to me again. . . *wrinkles forehead*)
It gets better. It may seem a long time coming but a bit like toothache, you suddenly realise that this is ok actually, they aren't hurting you any more. Do you at all know what is his excuse for not speaking to you? Or, quite differently, his reason?

You establish the rules and give 'em choices. The girl went there, did that....she was 'of age' dontchaknow!
Uh huh.
And I'm still the mom!
*snickering*

I think I walked over her laundry for months.
Darn that she had a mom that supplied her with so many clothing items.
It does get better, honestly. Courage! (That's Fr. courage)
