on the cliff top, I just have to recommend a book. . .if you've read it already, you'll understand why
it is the story of a man's family and a collection of netsuke
but not just
any man wrote this book - Edmund is a potter
a ceramic artist. . . I am
totally in love with his work
which might not be quite your cup of tea
but for me, is a shade of perfection
rarely experienced

Bother, I nearly bought this from a charity shop the other day!

And wow.....WOW what lovely colours and shapes.
I'd like a whole wall, please.
Or....maybe just ONE coffee cup.
His closest to white, please. ;-)
Mel it is an exquisite story of Europe from the turn of the C20th and on
well worth taking a moment to dip into
*passes white up full to the brim with fresh delicious coffee*
mig for some reason I thought you'd recommended it to me!
can't understand why anyone who bought it and read it would pass it onto a charity shop, it's a keeper
but!! if you saw it, make haste and return and purchase it!!
you'll love it, totally. . .
. . .I hope!
Thanks. I'll see what can be done.
Well, as long as it comes with a fresh cuppa coffee in a whitecup--bring it on! :-)
(and a blankie on the grass by the seaside, tyvm!)

Ohhhhh....and I like the wee little mouse.
Kinda reminds me of Horatio. :-)
there is a bit of a grim moment around 1938, but then a life has ups and downs. . .
altho sometimes the downs are abhorrent
. . .aren't they delightful Mel? glad you're on the blankie with a hot mug of the good stuff
Christophe you'll find the Parisian chapters interesting - has Patroclus read it yet? (does she have time to read, with her young brood?)
I bought it for my daughter. I'd better borrow it back!
