for your listening pleasure

(how on earth do you find a piece of opera that you are humming but can't name! are you really expected to trawl thru all the arias on youtube?)

insert *a few hours almost fruitless wandering around the www* and da-da. . . trumpet blast and drum roll: found it

quando sono solo, sogno all'orizzonte, e mancan le parole, si lo so che non c'luce, in una stanza, quando manca il sole, se non ci sei tu con me, con me, su le finestre, mostra a tutti il mio cuore, che hai acceso, chiudi dentro me, la luce che, hai incontrato per strada, time to say goodbye, paesi che non ho mai, veduto e vissuto con te, adesso si li vivro; con te partiro, su navi per mari, che io lo so, no no non esistono piu, it's time to say goodbye; qQuando sei lontana, sogno all'orizzonte, e mancan le parole, e io si lo so, che sei con me con me, tu mia luna tu sei qui con me, mio sole tu sei qui con me, con me con me con me, time to say goodbye; paesi che non ho mai, veduto e vissuto con te, adesso si li vivro; con te partiro, su navi per mari, che io lo so, no no non esistono piu con te io li rivivro; con te partiro, su navi per mari che io lo so, no no non esistono piu, con te io li rivivro; con te partiro, io con te; time to say goodbye
.
and we all know that Italian opera just doesn't translate particularly beautifully, but here we go anyhow:

when I'm alone I dream on the horizon and words fail; yes I know there is no light in a room where the sun is not there, if you are not with me; at the windows show everyone my heart, which you set alight; enclose within me the light you encountered on the street; time to say goodbye, to countries I never saw and shared with you, now, yes, I shall experience them, I'll go with you on ships across seas which, I know, exist no longer; with you I shall experience them; when you are far away I dream on the horizon and words fail, and yes, I know that you are with me; you, my moon, are here with me, my sun, you are here with me; with me, with me, with me, time to say goodbye, to countries I never saw and shared with you, now, yes, I shall experience them, I'll go with you on ships across seas which, I know no, no, exist no longer; with you I shall re-experience them; I'll go with you on ships across seas which, I know, no, no, exist no longer; with you I shall re-experience them; I'll go with you, I with you
.

. . .and now I'm humming
you say goodbye and I say hello. . .

LOOK! A new home and a new tune!

Nice place, ma'am.
However--
Elmo had four ducks..four birds of a feather....lalalalala

Yup--literally woke up with it STILL going.
Wait til himself arises--he'll LOVE me for helping him remember the tune he tried desperately to lose last night. *laughing*

Ohhhhh....I'll have to play 'catch up'!
And I'll have to try my hand at creating a little rock person in the garden with river rocks.
Later.
When the sun's up maybe...LOL

(we had an inukshuk person in the front yard just inside the gate, Patrick made it then Nancy knocked it over by mistake and remade it but it fell over. . . I might have to buy some rock glue and have Pattie make it again. . . is there such a thing as rock glue?!)

there are no titles on the spines of your books! How will I know which one(s) I want to borrow?

english inukshuk said...

shot if I had the graphics facility, I'd write in some titles. . .

. . .like "things I ought to have realised", "mistakes I shouldn't have made", "if only I'd known better"

yadda yadda

perhaps one month we should have an international book swap - just send a book to someone, who sends a book to someone else, but in the end everyone gets their own book back!? you know, put a little thought into it. . . probably not very carbon friendly tho, eh

Zig lizard, Spock!!! (only cement glue would probably win over everything, even Spock)

I LOVE the book swap idea. We'll need to get a list of participants and randomize who sends to whom. And I wouldn't want my book back. I forget where I heard/read it, but I've taken it as my own that "One should only give a book, never lend." or something like that.
