ok, coffee at the ready?

yup! well, here we go. . .
. . .I've recently discovered what my little brother (who lives in Dubai) spends some of his time doing. . . watch this!! (I think he only created the video, I suspect he didn't have anything to do with the fountains - more's the pity); however, more about him later and in the meantime enjoy your coffee time this morning

Lovely.

But, ultimately, pointlessly extravagant? Perhaps rather than spending the (a guess) MILLIONS of quid that cost, they could use that money to, oh, I dunno, bring irrigation to African nations who can't grow food, or maybe simply some mosquito nets? Meh, just me being grumpy I suppose.

Perhaps I haven't had enough coffee.

oh, I agree with you totally - but probably the same could be said of the whole of the Roman Empire's architecture and hot baths, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Las Vegas, every other little indulgence that each and every westernised society treats itself to. . .

Well, the video didn't load, but I'm guessing...Dubai...the Island World, the sail-shaped mega-tower...duty-free jewellery...
I'll try to have another crack at it tomorrow.
Right now...coffe looks good. Straight up, please.

Whoa.

THAT was cool.
Extravagent, yes....frivolous in a world that's struggling in so many places...still cool.

I've had some coffee, ty. But you know me! If some is good--more is better!
Yes, please.
Black, no sugar. :-D

It's good to have gloriously beautiful things happen in the world. But they will have to be paid for in real terms.
Also, I had to skip my coffee this morning due to an upset stomach.
I'm glad everyone else had some though.
