all around me are familiar facesworn out places, worn out facesbright and early for their daily racesgoing nowhere, going nowheretheir tears are filling up their glassesno expression, no expressionhide my head I want to drown my sorrowno tomorrow, no tomorrow

and I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad
the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever hadI find it hard to tell you , I find it hard to take
when people run in circles. . .it's a very, very mad world mad world

children waiting for the day they feel goodand I feel the way that every child shouldsit and listen, sit and listen
went to school and I was very nervous,
no one knew me, no one knew mehello teacher, tell me what's my lessonlook right through me, look right through me

and I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad
the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take
when people run in circles
it's a very, very mad world

When your children run in circles, that's hard to take.
So pretty, the backing for such a sad song. And the video was charming but your illustrations are better.

A little elegiac, a little sombre?

*blinks back the starting tear*

We need a rousing chorus of 'Life is but a melancholy flower'

Life is butter
Life is butter
Melon cauliflower,
Melon cauliflower,
Life is butter,
Life is butter,
Melon cauliflower,
Melon cauliflower.

(Tune: Frère Jacques)

I tried Christopher's tune--it sorta worked, actually.

Difficult bits during this holiday....not unlike other holidays in that aspect. But huge pieces of joy accompanied it, so it's all good.

Frankly, I want the circles picture to colour with my new pencils.
AND--I rather liked the tune, even with the lyrics that touched sad places.
I really, really liked your photo choices (as usual!).

erm, it wasn't supposed to be saddish. . . was just sitting in front of the fire, with the twinkly lights and the candles sparkling in the dark and had the piano riff twirling around in my head
