or - never buy your tree sight unseen
oh well!! at least we have a tree!! and there were plenty of offcuts to decorate the mantel piece with (I'm sure you're relieved to know that) (and some for the hearth too) (yes, and some more left over. . . darn apple shaped tree); anyhoo, now I'm singing this:

rocking around the Christmas Tree at the Christmas party hop
mistletoe hung where you can see, ev'ry couple tries to stop
you will get a sentimental feeling when you hear voices singing
"Let's be jolly! Deck the halls with boughs of holly". . .
rocking around the Christmas Tree, let the Christmas Spirit ring
later we'll have some pumpkin pie and we'll do some caroling
rocking around the Christmas Tree
have a happy holiday everyone's dancing merrily
in a new old fashioned way

and I recall a more amusing version. . .

I know Brenda Lee's version...sad, but true!
And himself wants to know if your shrubbery was delived by the knights that say "Ni".
He's been stuck too long. *laughing* It's all that snow, dontchaknow! ;-)
Oh dear, I've fallen right behind with everything. Still, I see there's been a feast of good things at EI Towers while I've been away, so much that I may have to have recourse to the Gaviscon. I really must get a laptop.
Happy Holidays to you, sir.
No worries--Horatio has been well looked after in your absence. k.....perhaps overfed--but he's a happy little hamster! :-)
*humming to Brenda Lee*
It's a good tune for a Wednesday morning, tyvm!
*humming*
Curious to now how you managed to buy a tree without seeing it - online? Wonders will never cease.
Well if it's apple shaped maybe it'll do for wassailing on the twelfth day.
mig I went to the flower shop where I bought last year's tree and the lady said they only had one left but it was on the van and so I said something like "well if it's anything like last year's, it'll be marvellous - when can he deliver?"
hmmmmmmmmmmmm
smells nice tho!
Mel has Himself told you the tale of the waiter, Mr Creosote and the "waffer theeen meeeent"? (when he does, think of that poor hamster!)
Christopher I think spending time in the real world, doing things in the real weather, is a very worthy and quite justified use of your time
you really don't need to offer excuses - and don't bother with a NetBook if you're thinking of a LapTop (netbooks are cr*p); better still, spend less time online and more time writing to your mother!!
so glad you're home safe and sound - was worrying about you
