and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
well it's actually the Sunday before. . . and of course there are no mice at iTowers - I mean once has to expect some benefits from having four cats in the place, eh
but! for the first time in a long time I'm alone (X finally made it back from NYC so The Various Teens are using his hot water, eating him out of house and home and arguing about what to watch on his tv) so, in my intimate wisdom, I decided last night to stay up really late watching rubbish on the telebox and have a lovely deep and peaceful sleep-in this morning
only to be woken at the crack of dawn by the postman
how did he do that?? I don't even have a working front door bell!!
blast blast and DOUBLE blast

Cor!!! Post on a Sunday! That's big city stuff. Here we get a postman on the run in shorts and he signs for us if it needs signing for and we're not here and he's called John. But not on a Sunday. (well, I expect he is called John on a Sunday but he doesn't call here)
Oh Jolly Jolly ness. I am being very jolly. Why? Oh yes because it's time for panic shopping and the choosing of totally naff and unsuitable gifts for an impossibly wide range of tastes.
Ho Ho. How can anyone fail to love Christmas!
