People should wanna consider the time for moving and setting boundaries, working out details on raising their families and conserving their energies for funner things! k..maybe not the bit about 'minimizing reproduction time'--but it sure would allow for more fun! :-)

The ones who don't mate for life quite often combine some of the practical stuff with the attracting stuff - look at all those birds who decorate their nests when they're courting fr'instance.
The swans are very graceful though :)
