except I didn't. . .
ok, so. . .
sometimes porridge made with milk and sugar is a good thing (whereas porridge made with water and salt reminds me of my miserable grandad)
sometimes a fire made in the shape of a pyramid which blazes and heats up a freezing cold room really quickly is a good thing
it is never a good thing to call my son's boyfriend "his friend" and describe my son's relationship as "the situation"
sometimes adding grated nutmeg to porridge makes it EVEN TASTIER
you say potato, I say potato
you say uncompromising, I say boundaries
oh, AND, just because there is a boundary does not mean that the grass is greener on the other side of it
ok, so. . .
it's my blog and I'll rant if I want to

There's a lot of scope within the boundaries, but they're there and so they should be.
I've added cinnamon and cardamon to porridge but never nutmeg, though I do add it to mashed potato. I want some porridge now to try it.
You know what I say! Spud!!! LOL
There's a reason WPIML puts his head on the table and bangs it on occasion. :-/ Sometimes I DO know I oughta STFU...but I'm talking and I just can't stop.
Other times....I don't WANNA.
Mel hmmmmmmmm. . . me too, but I am learning that on occasion one has to/needs to/ought to listen
of course, I wasn't referring to my (or your) STFUing

Z exactly (-:
cardamon, eh - I love cardamon, will have to try that
just recently I've been making seed cake with caraway. . . do you think it's that time of year? X
Mm yes, delicious. When I put cardamon pods in rice, I suck the seeds out afterwards. I have no shame of course and have been known to do it in Company.
that is such a relief to hear, Z. . . I thought it was just me who sucked the seeds out (-:
question is, what do you do with the husks? (-;
Neatly lined up on the side of the plate. Even I can't eat cardamon husks. I'm so pleased to find another cardamon seed sucker too!
Ah....seed suckers! ROFLMAO
Perhaps this was one of those moments where I'da been wiser to STFU? *laughing*
Oh yesss...I can see him banging his head. ;-)
(-:
just don't get me started on how I eat pomegranates - or, in the summer, picking out the shreds of peach flesh that are stuck in the crevices in the stone. . .

oh, and Z when I very first started blogging - many many years ago now - how long, Ms Mel? I've forgotten! - I wrote about Spangles. . .
(much missed, never show up in those jars of "retro sweets" one can buy nowadays)
and, with regards to liquorice root, I used to buy a stick or two on the way home from school from my favourite sweet shop with money I was supposed to have put in the Caritas Collection (oops). . . don't know anywhere now that I could get it, I'd buy more if I could. . .
tried to leave this thought chez toi but I was asked to log in and I don't know how!
X
SO DO I - peaches, I mean, and I have a feeling we'd get sticky together with pomegranates.
Sorry about the logging in - you choose a username and are sent a password (there is an explanation on the sidebar) - I'm afraid it's a bit of a do but I'd had it up to the limit with spam and with the awful wv Blogger did, so my son set up my own website. Only trouble is, I daren't try to change anything so have to bother him every time.
I'll investigate the liquorice root possibilities. It looks as if Mike has a source, at any rate. He doesn't live too far from me, about an hour's drive.
Oh geeze.....how may years ago.....
Seven?
*scratching head* Eight?
Six!
Five, four, three, two, one BLASTOFF!
*chuckling*
Now, I don't know about licorice root--but anything licorice I LOVE!
And messy foods are just fun!
Seed sucking vs seed spitting...I'll go for spitting every time.
