Now there's a great truth.....

Not that there's a rude joke in there somewhere--but what Vonnegut said.

Why this sudden involvement with Age Concern? I'm only 81 (tho' sometimes I do lie about my age, telling people I'm 91 to impress them with my extraordinary state of preservation), Spadoman served under John J. Pershing, Vicus once - only once - walked out with Enid Blyton and I suspect one of Rimshot's household duties is to dust the frame of his very first bus pass, there being no buses in his part of the world.

I'll cherish the simple things
The easy took-for-granted things
Like going round my Mum's house for my tea
And arguing with my sister,
(only God knows how I missed her)
It's the simple things that mean the most to me

lovely to see you here

Christopher and I had you down for about 55. . . as for everyone else fessing up about their true age, I'll leave that up to their discretion

Mel it's a great truth - I wish I'd learnt it years ago

Goodness, I'm glad to hear that! 81 indeed!
I will only say, in a coupe of months - oh no, less than a month I shall become venerable and entitled to a free bus pass myself. If such things still exist. (Not that they're any use out here where the nearest bus comes but once a day and the bus stop is a mile or two away).
