of course, me demanding more of you is like the raven calling the crow black.

Present and accounted for--checking in and checking up on you!

There's a break in the chaos and I've felt a need for a bit of normalcy. LOL NOT that I have a sense of what that even means lately, but somehow coming here meant a piece of that.......and a peace of peace. Which I found, if even for this moment (which is awesome, by the way!).

*hugs*

Oh, it's good to be home.
4 weeks of sunny California and not one moment on the beach--it wasn't a beach moment kinda trip, but I did come to know UCLA fairly well.

But home is good--and the study got painted in my absence, patio things got brought out and it's gorgeous in Iowa!
And there's something to be said for your own pillows and your own smelly stuff after a bubble bath!

So....yes please..... MORE coffee, more walks, more soft pillows and MORE homey stuff! :-)

(__)? Black, please......

More road trips.
Following More dreaming, please.

Shorter ones this time, tyvm.
With huge rocks and windy rivers, please.
And a cuppa coffee or six.

<-- has her own cup

Now.......ya do realize that people start to fret a bit when you stay silent too long, right?

I mean, I'm not prone to fretting!
I try NOT to fret...it's bad for you.
But some folks do fret.
NOT me, of course.
I trust that all is well!

Mig frets.
She's a fretter, I'm sure of it!!
And Shot...now there's a pro-fretter!

<-- pro whiner!

I'm whining for those who fret.
:-/

Yup.
Cuz I'm GOOD at it! :-/

Allie allie oxen free!!!!!
Yeah, well, if you're American you know what that means!

Just sayin'.....

crikey, it's so long since I've been here I have to prove I'm not a robot!)

sorry sorry sorry

put it down to general exhaustion, demands of The prodigal Teen (now returned and quite needy!), useless computer/internet. . .

apologies apologies apologies

more coffee?

*hastily tops up cups proferred by patient friends*

phew, did I get away with that?

ok, so the exhaustion might be masking a slight malaise on my part. . . but I've been doing a lot of sewing. . . does that count?

)-:

gosh, I feel awful

*hangs head in shame*

see, now it's just turned into a sob fest

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I'd tell a joke, only I don't really know any good ones

I did hear a song the other day tha I wanted to share - only I've forgotten it now

yeah, that's a growing problem too - can't seem to remember anything these days! (altho I do have a date with Dinah and Ziggy coming up!)(not that they know it's in my diary)(need to sort that out pronto too)

ok, so I've rabbitted on long enough without saying anything of worth

<----- needs more coffee!!

love and hugs!

(and I'm going to get to the bottom of this UCLA trip before the week is out - so, I'll be back!)

english inukshuk said...

erm, as well as having to prove I'm not a robot, I also had to remember my password - got it on the nth attempt

Well, welcome home to the son! Needy won't last too horribly long--he'll be back to his un-needy ways in short order and then you'll be a nuisance again! LOL Been there done that....enjoy the neediness while it lasts!

And no worries ('cept for the password forgetting--darn things.....AND the robot test which will always be a nuisance, unlike the returning son). It's all good! I have a full cuppa coffee, sunglasses and a full tank of gas so......Oh wait, bits of that are from the Blues Brothers!
OH great.
Now you've done it.

*humming and tapping feets*

I'll be doing Jailhouse Rock all day now thank you........

OH! But there'll be a visit! Or two! Woooohooooo!!

Mel said...

I am NOT a robot.

Hmmmmmph!!!!

More weekend, less violent storms, please.

I like Monday's.
I don't like violent storms.

Oh I'm glad you proved you're not a robot. It's good to check these things out once in a while.
Glad the Boy is back and hope he's doing alright - hope you're coping with him too.
And if there's any coffee left...\/?
xxxx
(Now going to check if I'm a robot or not)

Do you get the sense that I'm a bit tired of gray, wet days?

Bring on the sun, please.
If you've been hogging it, please feel free to share.

(__)? Yup.....black and pass on any of the goodies you might have socked away out of sight. I'm on a diet.

Hahahahahaha......okay, that last remark was a lie!

And this morning, despite the clouds, I'm putting itty bitty seeds in egg crates.
Himself's idea.
I'll let ya know how that works out. LOL
So far I have mud and wet paper egg crates!
JUST reporting.

mig bardsley said...

I do love to hear that people are still finding good use for egg crates (boxes?)

Hope you had a good visit to Wiltshire :)

Mel said...

*laughing* I still have mud and wet paper, Mig.

I'm thinking it's 'to be continued'--or at least I can hope it evolves to more than that....

In the meantime, it's Monday! :-)
And I'm in need of a cuppa coffee for the starting of the week.
I figured I'd drop in, feed Horatio and generally terrorize.

*laughing* You know. The usual! ;-)

Happy belated birthday, dearheart.....and more--happy EVERY day cuz it's available and of all the folks I can think of, you're on the top of the list.
I'll talk with the Big Guy and let Him know my list just keeps getting longer and longer (He won't be surprised!)
Horatio happily accepts any morsel that's tossed his way, still enjoys tap dancing and looks forward to your return.
Kinda like the rest of us! ;-)

You just be loving life and everyone in it, eh?
We'll help ourselves to the coffee and treats--you don't hang with a shy group!

Happiest of the happy birthday months to you.....and CAKE for everyone!!!!! :-D

Mel said...

Did ya see the super moon?!
I did!

Well, I sorta did....hours after it rose.
Stupid clouds had really bad timing to show up at moonrise. *sigh* BOTH nights, no less.....

Happy Monday anyway!! :-)

Mel said...

Hump day means I deserve coffee and Horatio gets a treat!

<-- going to feed the Hamster cuz I can!

Gonna hope your day is filled with sunshine and brightness!

Mel said...

Ohhhhhhhh......Happy Birthday month to you!
Happy Birthday month to you!

Happy Birthday month, happy BIRTHDAY month.....
HAPPY Birthday month to you!!

<-- felt like singing, tyvm
(of course, loud and off-key!)

And a glorious, wonderful Monday to you, ma'am.
I hope life is treating you kindly and the swirlies in the brain have settled to a gentle wave.

Silly brains!

*hugs*

Mel said...

<-- came for the coffee!

Old habits die hard, they say.

I think that's mostly true. And isn't it strange how quick we are to develop habits without even planning them?
There's a topic or two to ponder on.
What habits HAVE I created for myself just around Fridays?!

Hmmmm....
Coffee is one!
k.....coffee's every day of the week, but you know what I mean.

Mel said...

Did ya see the eclipse, did ya see the eclipse?!

<-- saw bits of it until the clouds swallowed up the sun

And the sun rose again this morning! *whew* Whole, even!

:-)

Just reporting, ma'am!!

Mel said...

Definitely a 'Hump' to ride over....I'll be glad when that bit's done and the end of the week looms on the horizon.
Mostly cuz there wasn't really a 'weekend' last weekend and I NEED some patio time, dangit.

With coffee.
And a good book.
Or........without a good book.
I have woodpeckers and cardinals!
BETTER than a good book on the patio...
