so, what do I think?

broken windows and empty hallways
a pale dead moon in the sky streaked with grey
human kindness is overflowing and I think it's going to rain today

scarecrows dressed in yesterday's styles
while their frozen smiles chased love away

when the lion's "kindness" was overflowing
then did I think that it would rain that day?

. . .lonely, lonely. . .

tin woman at your feet
you kicked her down the street
was that the way to treat a friend?

bright before me, the signs implored me
to "help" the needy and show them the way. . .

human kindness was overflowing

but

I think it's going to rain

 again

today

on the other hand. . .
. . .perhaps I'll just pop on my ruby slippers and give those heels a click

Ah....it's been a while since I've indulged in this one. Such a powerful voice, that gal. And lyrics to wonder at.
Oh, and of course ruby slippers--just when it all starts to get a bit heavy....click them heels.
*sigh*
Lemme know when you've run outta use for 'em will ya?
NOT that I feel a need to go back to Kansas, mind you. I'm already IN the mighty midwest! ;-)

dearheart, your mismatching socked feet are welcome in my ruby slippers anytime you feel the need to click your heels together! X

They come.......they go.......

I've fed Horatio and he ran like a mad-man for a bit. I was going to make him tap dance--but I think he looked a bit weary from the running.

Maybe Horatio needs a wee pair of ruby slippers just for him. I don't believe he'd be the least bit threatened to don them--he's a cool dude. He tap dances! ;-)

dearest Mig

I am afraid I'm singing again - not a good sign )-:

however, I have a new love (-:

he's called Padraig Macmiadhachain and I have become obsessed with the works of his which were turned into artists' textiles in the 50s

it has become a rather expensive habit (the collecting of them) but I am totally addicted (-;

hope you and yours are well

much love, ILTV X

sweetie - you know very well what you are to me

and if you need a little reminder. . .

. . .you're right up there with Nials, House and Sheldon

in fact, if I assembled you all as a pyramid, those three would be holding you up

(-:

hmmm. . . I seem to have forgotten all about Bernard (Black) and Eddie (Izzard). . . tell you what, I'll get them to bring you refreshments at frequent intervals

how does that sound?

Don't mind me.

I'm just here feeding the hamster!

Bernard Black is a personal hero! ;) I aspire to his level of misanthropy (with certain obvious exceptions).

I miss House, but have latched on to Sherlock a la 'Elementary' as a surrogate.

Do they have that show in Blighty?

english inukshuk said...

no, we have the real Sherlock

can't remember how to do links, but read this:

I tried that Sherlock and found him less than satisfying. Plus, my Sherlock was in the BBC's Emma (did you see that series, it was fab!)

english inukshuk said...

ah, but you see if you match my Sherlock with your Sherlock, and next raise me to the works of Austen, then I can trump you with Mr Darcy

Rimshot said...

Well, we all know that the final say in portraying Sherlock belongs to Basil Rathbone.

Mel said...

Ummmmm........ *waving*

NOT that it really matters one way or another--but I agree with HER.

:-/

Oh!! LOOK!
I've got that link multiple times--which means I can share it with himself who adores your Sherlock!

Wow....we BOTH agree with her.

<-- once again, feeding Horatio!!

mig bardsley said...

There was no Sherlock like Basil.
(I'm not sure what that means though)

Rimshot said...

Dearest Mel, of course it matters. YOU matter! :)

And you, dear dear Mig... HI! :) (waves)

I'm generally not sure what anything means.

english inukshuk said...

do "things" have to mean

Rimshot said...

Yes. Sadly, yes, they do.

english inukshuk said...

ah. . .

well, on that front - how about we recognise that whilst most things "matter", we can agree not to have to attribute "meaning"

this is a case in point for me at present

you must have read the writing in between the lines

darn that invisible ink
